山陰豪雨（島根豪雨）。7月27日にかけて中国・九州地方を中心に梅雨前線による集中豪雨が襲う。とくに島根県で最高555ミリの雨量を記録し、日本海沿いを中心に117人の死者・行方不明者を出す。全半壊・流失・破損家屋3669戸、農林水産物の被害1302億円。後に激甚災害の指定を受ける。
