On the album there is no <br />background he just plays this by himself with a clean sound.<br />It takes some patience to learn it and after you learn it <br />you need to put some feel into it. The X's stand for a <br />string mute. Just mute the strings and strum all of them.<br />The > stands for a finger slide either up or down the string,<br />depending on what side of the note it is on. The ^ stands<br />for a hammer-on or a pulloff, again, depending on what note<br />it is going to.
